Mom's Foolproof Bread
5 cups warm water
1/2 cup sugar
2 rounded T. yeast
2 T. salt
12 cups wheat or white flour
2/3 cup shortening
Combine water, sugar, and yeast, let set for 10 minutes. Combine salt and flour, add shortening. Mix and knead, let rise to double. Form 4 to 5 loaves. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 50 minutes.
Cinnamon Rolls: Roll out dough, add butter, brown sugar, white sugar, cinnamon and raisins. |
