Corn Meal Mix
4 cups flour
1 Tablespoon Salt
3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup baking powder
4 1/2 cups cornmeal
1 cup shortening
Mix all ingredients but shortening together, then cut in shortening with pastry cutter. Store in air-tight container. Use within 10-12 weeks to make the yummiest corn bread! You won't use all this mix for one batch of corn bread, so keep it for next week! |
